Bill Evans Trio - Sunday at the Village Vanguard (1961)
Gorgeous piano Jazz off the Riverside label. This is Evans' first trio and this album begins the long collection of the Trio's sessions. I'm personally just getting into Evans' material, so why don't you get acquainted with me.

ReplyDeleteI've been an appreciative and dedicated fan of the great mostly unknown fingerstyle jazz guitarist Lenny Breau for...an amazing 30+ years now. He had a harmonic approach on his 7 string guiar with an extra high string tuned to A above the high 'E' string that was the equal and broher sound to Bill Evan's piano. I've heard songs by Bill & co. over the years, but I just bought "Sunday@Village" a moment ago thanks to electronic download. I stumbled onto your old blog here because of that. I'll let you know what I hear, but it will have years of pre-preparation to being loved by the sounds of Mr. Lenny Breau, the once and future greatest guitarist (in terms of technique and in the realm of solo chordal jazz guitar playing) of all time.
